Residential Black Vinyl Coated Chain Link Fence

Residential Black Vinyl Coated Chain Link Fence

Our Black Chain Link Really Stands Out:

Fence Workshop™ knows all too well that not all black vinyl coated chain link fences are the same. When selecting a residential vinyl coated chain link fence provider, be sure to ask questions and inquire into both the quality of the materials used and the installation techniques. At Fence Workshop™, we supply quality fencing that we’re proud of and that satisfies our customers beyond their expectations. We offer customers in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina a product they can trust to be top-of-line.

More about this Great Chain Link Product:

We invite you to see what makes our vinyl coated chain link fences different from the rest. Our black vinyl (PVC) coated chain link fence consists of domestic, 9 gauge finish and galvanized steel chain link core, rather than the much lower quality imported, compressed black wire mesh commonly seen in the Southeast.

Fences Supplied by the Professionals:

black vinyl coated chain link picture

These residential black vinyl/PVC coated chain link fences have both a top rail and a bottom “tension wire” with posts set on 10 foot centers. Terminal posts are posts with a larger diameter, set at each end, each turn, and any point in the fence line where the angle of the fence deviates more than 20 degrees, and on both sides of any gate. At each terminal post, the chain link stops and is attached to the post with tension bands and tension straps. All terminal posts are set in belled holes with pre-mixed concrete and Quick-Rok™. This means that the base of the post holes are wider than the top, which makes the concrete much stronger (over 3x the psi of regular concrete) and helps it cure faster.

Residential Black Chain Link Fencing costs:

Our black vinyl coated chain link fencing can secure and protect your backyard without costing an arm and a leg. If you’re a contractor or someone looking to do it yourself, our black chain link materials are available for purchase and delivery. Black vinyl coated chain link fencing is on average 50% less in overall project cost than ornamental steel or aluminum fence options.

Want a Custom Built Gate for Your Unique Needs?

Our chain link gates can be fabricated in-house to accommodate for any size or design. Please contact us to discuss pricing for supply of our domestically manufactured residential black vinyl coated chain link gates, which include standard gate hardware. Our friendly staff would love to help, so send us an email at [email protected] to get started.

Pine Fences

Pressure Treated Pine Privacy Fences

MCQ™ Pressure Treated Pine at a Glance:

If you are interested in installing a Pressure Treated Pine wood fence, it’s important to make sure you purchase a quality material with the best pressure treated chemicals on the market. Pine fences that are pressure treated with the newer, safer, more natural looking MCQ (Micronized Copper Quaternary) treatment are the best choice. Micro pressure-treated lumber is clean and safe for handling and for the environment, and has a fresher, more natural appearance than other treated wood. Along with being safer, longer lasting and more natural looking, MCQ lumber is easier to stain or seal. MCQ pine lumber uses a copper-based preservative with a co-biocide and is building code compliant ICC-ES Reports, ESR-1980, ESR-2240.

Our MCQ™ Pine is Safe for Humans, Pets and the Environment:

MCQ is also odorless, non-staining and non-irritating to humans, animals and plants and is ideal for a wide range of outdoor uses. Unlike the dark green pressure treated pine commonly seen here in the Southeast, the MCQ™ treatment has a much more natural look which initially weathers into a golden brown rather than gray.

Construction of Pine Fencing:

Pressure treated pine fences are usually fully constructed on site by expert installers. The of use hot-dipped galvanized ring-shank nails that will not rust is ideal, as they will not easily pull lose or stain fence pickets. All pressure treated posts should be set in belled holes with premixed concrete and Quick-rok™ for extra stability and longevity.

MCQ pressure rteated pine fences in GA, FL and NC MCQ pressure treated pine throughout the Southeast.

Sealing and Staining a Pressure Treated Pine Fence:

Sealing and staining is an important step if you do choose to install a pressure treated wood fence. We suggest water sealing your pine fence around 3 months after installation. Water sealing your pine fence will keep your lumber from absorbing moisture and will help to prevent shrinking and warping. Stain (not to be confused with sealant) will protect your fence from both moisture damage and color-fading sun damage. The darker the tint, the better the protection will be. The best form of secondary protection for your pine fencing is a solid outdoor paint with a pre-coat of primer.

Weathering Information:

Thanks to a unique treating process, consumers can enjoy wood the way Mother Nature intended; meaning, no more dark-green tint to wood. With pine privacy fences of the past and most competitor’s current pine fences, the ACQ™ treatment process caused the lumber to have a strong dark green tint and the fence would weather to a gray color. Our newer and longer lasting MCQ™ pressure treated pine has a much more natural look without the dark green tint. When properly maintained, MCQ™ pine lumber weathers to a golden brown color rather than a gray.

Environmentally Preferable Product:

Pressure treated pine lumber is treated with the first wood preservative certified as an Environmentally Preferable Product by the Scientific Certification Systems. This means it’s safe for handling, children, pets and plants.

Cedar Fencing

Cedar Fencing

Cedar Fence In Georgia, Florida & North Carolina:

Cedar fence lumber for wood fencing in GA, FL and NC.At Fence Workshop™, we want to provide information about not only our fence materials for purchase, but all types of fencing in an effort to help educate on best practices and what to look for when choosing an installer. If you are interested in purchasing and installing a Cedar wood fence, read on for information that will help you get the most out of your material and installer. Cedar fences look great, smell great and hold their dimensions better than pine. Cedar lumber is naturally resistant to insects and rot! Because cedar is more dimensionally stable than pine, it makes for great pickets. As a rule, any pine privacy fence can be upgraded with cedar pickets. The natural oils in cedar help make the wood material resistant to decay and insect attack, increasing its durability and weather-ability without the use of chemical treatments.

Cedar is more dimensionally stable:

In fact, much more so than other woods so there is minimal shrinkage and warping. This fact alone is why the use of Western Red Cedar is suggested for all custom wooden driveway and pedestrian gates . The reasoning for this is due to the lighter weight of the cedar; it helps to prevent sag over time. Above all, the cedar wood has a beauty all its own with colors, grains, and textures unmatched to other fence materials. If you want colors other than cedar’s own natural tones, the wood can easily be stained. Properly constructed and maintained, a cedar wood fence will look good for many years to come, adding prestige and value to your home and garden. Cedar’s natural beauty and durability lends itself well to any formal or informal landscape and environment.

Reasons to Choose Cedar for Your Fence

1. Cedar is not likely to warp. Cedar lumber is much more dimensionally stable than pressure treated pine lumber. Whether used horizontally or vertically, cedar lumber excels at holding it’s shape.

2. Decay resistant. Western Red cedar has a life span of 800 years of more. This due to naturally occurring fungicidal compounds called thujaplicins. These compounds fight decay-causing fungi, making cedar a leading choice for fencing lumber.

3. No-Bugs. Cedar has a strong, distinctive smell of cedar oil, which is a natural insect repellant. From mosquitoes and moths to termites and flies, cedar repels almost all bugs (this is why cedar is commonly used in closets).

4. Light and strong.  Cedar is classified as a softwood but is actually 80% the strength of oak and up to 35% lighter than redwood.

5. Virtually waterproof.  Cedar lumber can absorb and release water, condensation and moisture while maintaining equilibrium with the surrounding atmosphere. This unique trait is known as hydroscopic and is the reason why cedar can withstand such heavy rains and moisture, and can even be used in luxury bath tubs.

6. Acts as a sound barrier. Cedar is commonly recognized for it’s sound-blocking qualities. Cedar fencing has up to 70% of the noise suppression abilities of a solid concrete wall.

7. Free of pitch and resin. Pitch and resin prevents a lumber’s ability to properly bond/adhere and be stained or sealed. Western Red cedar is free of pitch and resin.

Construction of Cedar Fencing:

Most quality cedar fences will be fully constructed on-site. Pre-assembled panels are not recommended as it is hard to determine the standards in which they were produced and the quality of wood that was used. Due to its underground weather-ability and lower cost, we suggest that pine posts still be used when constructing your cedar fence here in the Southeast.

Pricing for Cedar Fences:

Cedar fencing is typically going to cost you a bit more than to use Pressure Treated Pine material, but some customer’s will find it worth it for the extra benefits. Think about what you want to achieve with your fence and how much upkeep you want to invest and make an educated decision from there.

Horse Fencing

Horse Fencing

Supplies for your New Horse Fence:

Looking for a Southeastern fence company to supply horse fencing for your farm in the Georgia, Florida or North Carolina area? At Fence Workshop™ we have exceptional experience supplying wood and wire horse fencing, vinyl post and rail horse fencing and more. We specialize in supplying custom, superior designed horse fences and other large animal fences.

Horse Fence Supply Experience Unmatched in the Southeast:

As most horse owners know, horses love to test the boundaries of fences. From cribbing on wooded posts to pawing at wire, if your horse fence is not built correctly, your horse will point it out. At Fence Workshop™, we can supply any style of horse fencing to match your budget but strongly recommend something more substantial than barbed wire alone. Because of our extensive experience in the industry of fencing, we understand just how curious animals can be around your new farm fence. We understand what materials, procedures and precautions to take to ensure our farm fences stand the test of time and curiosity of large animals. We go the extra mile to ensure safety and security is part of your horse fence.

Wood Horse Fences:

Wood horse fences are the most traditional style wood fence available. Wood board as well as wood and wire fencing has an appealing look and is the exact fence that really makes you feel like you’re home. Wood board fences are perfect for horses, cattle, farms and ranches. Wood board fencing can add a tremendous amount of value to your farm or ranch and can provide a large return on the investment in the fence if the property is sold.

Horse fencing installersVinyl Horse Fences:

Vinyl horse fencing is strong and long lasting! When constructing a horse fence for your property here in Georgia, Florida or North Carolina – Fence Workshop™ recommends vinyl in addition to the traditional wood horse fence. Vinyl is great because it has some give to it while also being strong. Vinyl doesn’t splinter like wood fences.  The splintering that can happen with a wood fence can be a danger to horses enclosed within the confines of a wood fence. Vinyl fencing helps to reduce “cribbing” or chewing that can happen with wood fences, because horses don’t like the feel of the vinyl on there teeth. These facts make vinyl a great option for Horse fence customers looking for quality fence materials.

Horse Fence Materials Supply:

Wood and Vinyl  post and rail fences are both popular horse and farm fence options.  When installing and planning your horse fence consider safety and security the top priorities.  Wood provides a more budget friendly option and is a versatile horse fence building material in its own right. However, vinyl is also a viable option.

Rackable Fence Panels

Rackable Fence Panels – The Fence Workshop Difference

An essential for properties with hills or slopes:

A rackable fence panel is one that can adjust to the slope of your land without being stair stepped. Solid aluminum fence panels, like those sold at major home improvement stores, must be stair stepped whenever there is an inclination or declination in your fence line. By stair stepping a fence, it creates unsecured gaps at the bottom that allow people and animals in and out. Furthermore, a stair stepped fence will have a jagged top fence line, jumping up and down every time there is a slope in the land.

ATF™ (All Terrain Fencing)Rakable Aluminum Fence Panels:

Rakable fence panel by Ameristar

Our rackable fence panels are far superior to solid panels, as they allow for a much more secured fence, as well as a smooth and esthetically pleasing top line. Whether purchasing it through us or a major home improvement store, an aluminum fence is a significant investment in your home or business and should not be taken lightly. Now that you know one of the many major differences in our aluminum fences and the majority of those sold by other companies, we hope it will help in the process of making a smart purchasing decision that will provide you with the most long term value for your money. This fence comes with a lifetime manufactures warranty.

Horizontal Board Wood Privacy Fences

Horizontal Board Wood Privacy Fences

What is a horizontal board fence?

A horizontal board fence is one that has horizontal pickets rather than vertical. These fences are considered to have a modern look compared to the more traditional vertical board fences and pair nicely with the hard lines found on modern homes and buildings.

Horizontal Board wood privacy fencing in GA, FL and NC. Horizontal board wood privacy fencing sales and installation in Georgia, Florida and North Carolina.

What are some of the advantages of installing a horizontal board fence?

Horizontal board privacy fences are a stylish way to create a private haven on your outdoor property. Installed at heights of up to 9′ they can be a great option if you have easily excitable pets or overly modest guests. Please Note: Horizontal board fences are not the best for uneven grades or hills. Please consider when planning a horizontal board wood privacy fence that you must be prepared to “step” the top of the fence and have angle cuts or gaps at the bottom of the fence. Modern fences are best built at AFA standards and installed by knowledgable installation professionals.

Wood Fences Savannah, GA

Wood Fences Savannah, Georgia

Wood Fencing in Savannah, GA:

Savannah is known for its historic beauty found throughout the architecture and natural landscaping. Fence Workshop™ aims to maintain this natural beauty that so many people cherish Savannah for with every fence we build. Wood fences provide a clean, natural and beautiful solution no matter what your fencing needs are. Fence Workshop does not currently sell wood materials to the public, however we strive to provide valuable information for customers looking for all types of fencing in Savannah, Georgia.

How to Choose Your Wood Fence

When deciding what type of wood fence you’ll need, it’s important to know what you hope to achieve once your project is complete. Do you want privacy for your family or pool area? Do you want to protect your garden area while enhancing the overall aesthetic? Are you hoping to drown out noise from a busy street or neighbor? Or do you just need to establish property lines? Whatever your goal, the end result should be a solid, well built structure that if installed correctly, should last you many years to come.

Wood Privacy Fencing

Wood privacy fencing can be found almost anywhere you look. They are a great choice for those looking to secure their properties from intruding animals or to establish a private oasis for your family and friends around the pool. Privacy fences are typically anywhere from 4ft to 8ft in height and panels should be built anywhere from 6ft to 10ft in length between posts. Your post size and style should reflect how decorative your wood privacy fence will be. If you’re adding a top cap or fascia boards and have exposed posts, you may consider using 6×6 pressure treated posts instead of 4×4 pressure treated posts. 6×6 posts are obviously larger, heavier, and will be more sturdy than 4×4 posts. 4×4 posts are usually sufficient for basic privacy fences with hidden posts, using just pickets and standard framing boards. Post length should be at least two feet greater than your fence height, as you or the installer should be submerging it anywhere from 18 – 24 inches into dirt. It is generally recommended to use Pressure Treated posts as they tend to hold up better overtime underground, delaying the rotting process. Wet concrete should be used to secure the posts in the post holes – you can take additional precautions to secure the post such as rebar or gravel to help protect the viability of the post and subsequently, your entire fence.

Wood Picket Fencing

Wood picket fencing is a perfect choice for those looking to give the front of their property an aesthetic facelift. It is also ideal for those with landscaping they would like to compliment, rather than conceal, with a natural yet decorative barrier. Wood picket fences are often scalloped or arched, with picket design options not always offered in privacy fencing. Some of these options include french gothic, dog eared, flat top, or spear top design. Pickets are generally placed anywhere from 1.5 to 4 inches apart depending on if you’ll need to contain small animals or children, privacy concerns, etc. Fence height in picket fencing is generally anywhere between 3ft and 5ft and pickets can be a wide array of sizes or dimensions. Most picket fences will have exposed posts, so 4×4, 4×6, or 6×6 Pressure Treated posts are all commonly used. Sections between posts should be 6ft to 8ft in length and framing boards will usually be 2 to 3 rail 2×4 boards.

Cedar vs Pressure Treated Pine

Both Cedar and Pressure Treated Pine have their distinctive advantages, and your budget, location and purpose will determine which choice is right for your project. Cedar is a beautiful, light weight wood that naturally has a multitude of benefits fence owners will appreciate. It resists warping and bug infestation, smells wonderful, and naturally transforms overtime from a beautiful red color to a stunning silver. Pressure Treated Pine also has unique characteristics making it ideal for use in long-term fencing. Because of the pressure treatment, the wood is meant to last in most any environment for 15 to 20 years. It holds up well when sitting in or very close to the ground, and is more economical than Cedar fencing. Pressure Treated Pine is a great option for those looking to erect a basic, utility driven fence. In either case, it is highly recommended to stain or seal your fence to increase the longevity of your investment.

Installing Your Wood Fence

While we don’t offer installation services directly, we can give you tips on what to look for when choosing an installer. Make sure your fence installer is licensed and insured and knowledgable in the latest installation standards. Ask them how they secure the fence posts and at what depth, how many rails of framing they’ll include, and what kind of warranty they include on their installation practice and materials. If your property has inclinations and declinations, know whether the fence will be built to follow the contour of the ground, or if it will be stepped. The latter will create gaps at the bottom of the fence but may be more aesthetically pleasing depending on the style of wood fence you’ve chosen. Wood gates can become a source of frustration overtime as the natural material is bound to make movements due to weather changes and general use. Know what your installer is doing to mitigate these issues. One such precaution is using Cedar framing on gates to reduce the weight. Another good standard to follow is the use of 6×6 posts on all wood gates, regardless of size, as they’ll be stronger and less likely to sag. Remember, the key to avoiding any surprises along the way is to do your research and ask the right questions before mistakes are made!
