Setting Fence Posts:

We suggest our posts be set in a premixed combination of high grade concrete and a product known as Quick-Rok™, well below the ground’s frost point (this will prevent a common problem known as post heaving). The Quick-Rok™ is an additive that will triple the strength of the concrete and also dramatically reduce the time it takes for the post to set. This will allow for a post that is two to three times as solid, permanent, and precisely set. Using techniques like this, combined with the highest quality materials, is just one of the factors that make our fences so strong.

Try digging a trench of six inches from pole to pole and place netting into the ground, covering it with dirt. This will further help to prevent burrowing animals. Adding a gate adds accessibility to your garden and keeps animals out.

Some Ideas to Add Spice to Your Design

A border of tall growing flowers or oriental grasses can create a beautiful and natural looking effect for your fence, or even a hedge of evergreen or holly. Don’t be afraid to combine a few fence materials to create a uniquely secluded area for your gardening area. Basic Wooden Privacy Fence:

Our basic wooden privacy fence consists of pressure treated pine with the new, safer, more natural looking MCQ (Micronized Copper Quaternary) treatment. Micro pressure-treated lumber is clean and safe for handling and for the environment and has a fresher, more natural appearance than other treated wood. MCQ is also odorless, non-staining and non-irritating to humans, animals and plants and is ideal for a wide range of outdoor uses. Unlike the dark green pressure treated pine commonly seen here in the Southeast, the MCQ treatment has a much more natural look which weathers into a golden brown rather than grey. This is a 6 foot fence with dog eared pickets and three rail framing. The posts are commonly set in belled holes with pre-mixed concrete and Quick-rok™. This means that the base of the post holes are wider than the top and the concrete much stronger (over 3x the psi of regular concrete) and faster to cure. This fence is fully built on-site, adapting to inclinations and declinations, keeping tight to the ground and avoiding unsecured gaps and unsightly stair stepping like panelized fencing. As is with all fences installed by Fence Workshop™, the fence comes with our 5-Year Installation Warranty.

Basic Wooden Picket Fence:

Our basic picket fence consists of the same specifications as the basic wooden privacy fence above, but consists of 4 foot pickets and two rail framing. While the picket spacing can be adjusted at no additional cost, this fences standard picket spacing is 2 inches. Not sure what type of wood picket fence will best meet your wants and needs? Though the white picket fence is inconic for the American dream home, you might decide that many of our other wood picket fences, with a variety of staining and sealing options, better match your landscape and the desired effect you wish to create for your property.

Our basic galvanized chain link fence consists of domestic, 11.5 gauge, galvanized steel chain link rather than a much lower quality compressed, and imported galvanized wire mesh, which is commonly seen here around the Southeast. The fence has both a top rail and a bottom “tension wire” with posts set on 8 foot centers. Terminal posts are posts with a larger diameter, set at each end or turn and on both sides of a gates.
